A win move Pirates to the second position on the league

Pirates managed to bounce back from last weekend loss

Orlando Pirates managed to bounced back from the last game loss, and beat Mamelodi Sundowns 3-1, after their tonight meet at Loftus stadium at Pretoria.

The game between the so called big time Pirates and Sundowns started very slow under the expectations. However, the Brazilians picked up their game and put some pressure on the Soweto giant.

On the twelve minutes on the game, the Buccaneers managed to score the first goal of the game by Thulasizwe Mbuyane after a wonderful ball from Takesure Chinyama.

Few minutes after that goal, Teko Modise  tried to equalize the score line by a long range strike but Senzo Meyiwa was on the right place at the right time to make a magnificent  save.

The Brazilians stated to put more pressure, but the Soweto giant’s defense was too tied for them to penetrate, while Meyiwa was showing a world class performance.

Just three minutes before the end of the first half, Pirates managed to win the ball from the pressurising Sundowns, and play a counter-attack that resulted into a goal by Chinyama.

From the first two minute of the second half, Senzo continued his good form by stopping Eleazar Rodger from scoring. However, Pirates didn’t bench at the back and watch the game, they bounced back and compete for the possession.

The Brazilians kept on pushing and that was shown by a wonderful strike by Jabu Shongwe that hit the crossbar. However, a well organised Pirates back four was there to protect their keeper.

The buccaneers managed to bounce back from the astonishing pressure and score the third goal of the game by Sifiso Myeni, created by his long-time teammate Patrick Phungwayo.

A consoling goal was scored by a former Free State man Edward Mnqele from the bench on the last three minutes of the game, and made the score 3-1.
